A Long Journey Home Poem by Steph N. Janusz

A Long Journey Home

written in memory of my Aunt Rose Mary from her point of view

A long journey home
It is from birth to death
From my first infant scream
To my sighing last breath

In between is a life
Filled with lessons I did learn
As the years did pass
And the seasons did turn

A life of joys and sorrows
Laughter and tears
Life lessons I've
Shared with my daughters

Oh what a wonderful
Life it has been
Shared with parents, brothers,
Daughters, and grandchildren

Cry your tears of sorrow
But be joyful some
For me, because I've finished
A long journey home
