For The Moon Poem by Steph N. Janusz

For The Moon

If we asked for the moon,
would you give it?
An outrageous request,
you would say.

What about tolerance,
and acceptance?
Are these beyond your
reach to give?

Because we do not
believe as you,
do you deny us our
connection with the Divine?

We are witches, yes,
priests and priestesses too,
honoring the divine duality,
God and Goddess.

Use not your religious faith,
as a reason to treat us ill,
when you should treat us
as you wish to be treated.

But if the moon is all you can give,
we will gladly take it. For even one
act of giving is an act of tolerance,
acceptance, and love in the Divine's eye.
