A Look At Life-32

A LOOK AT LIFE-32
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Discipline,
few can challenge what you say.
Still, fewer can dispute your value
in shaping and making one's destiny.
Even birds and animals listen to your dictates
and to an extent
they conform to what you say

You are just awesome.
For you and you only
man is what he is,
an uncrowned monarch
of what he sees

At times
you become too harsh and obstinate,
leaves no room to manoeuvre.
My friend!
give us a little space
to think and live,
dance and play,
innovate
and live life afresh

You know
too much of you
dampens initiative and creativity
and make one conform and conform only,
making a mockery of his free will and
all that he loves and relishes.

An average man conforms,
while a genius deviates.
If the primitive man would have accepted
things as they are,
man would not have been
where he is now,
at the zenith of glory.
A Galileo would not have been a Galileo,
and Sun would have been still revolving around the earth.

Be a little lenient.
Listen to the voice of change,
accommodate those
who differ and deviate,
nothing but truth prevails
