A Love Affair With The Precise Poem by Raymond Farrell

A Love Affair With The Precise

A love affair with the precise
Can be a need for the familiar
To appease inner anxiety
that builds and builds
Interfering with life's activities
For which the anecdote
Is the repetition of
The same sequence
Be it writing, gestures
touching, speaking
All done
To dampen down
The anxiety
And make life more bearable.
