A Lover's Embrace. Poem by Michael Davis

A Lover's Embrace.

I remember that night,
That precious night,
In which we lay together,
Your heart was warm,
Your smile was bright,
Your eyes spoke of love forever.

Why can it not be,
My dear love,
That we spend our lives together?

Why can the waters not clear,
For us to escape,
And make love forever?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Again, a somewhat naive poem for a beautiful girl, the one and the same, with whom I shall not be sharing my life with. Loneliness is my companion now.
