A Midnight Stroll Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Midnight Stroll

A midnight stroll I'd love to take,
a stroll when the stars are out.
But if I must do this on my own
I don't want to be out and about.
Those stars need to be seen by two,
not one lonely soul.
And thus my midnight stroll can't be.
For it would take its toll.

My heart could never stand the pain
and so I'll stay at home.
I will place it in the back of my mind
and fashion it into a poem.

'Midnight stroll, midnight stroll
come to me someday.
Let my love hear my plea
so we two can find our way
underneath the stars.'
