A Mirror Never Lies Poem by Beth DeChamplain

A Mirror Never Lies

A mirror never lies.
It shows you your reflection,
but never look into your eyes.

You'll see who you are,
and what you could become,
and the mistakes that got you here.

You'll see the beast inside,
the wolf that rules your soul.
His teeth beckon you to come closer.

A mirror never lies.
It shows who you really are,
and what you should fear about yourself.

You'll see all of your past regrets,
and the blood that runs cold,
and the chills that you always feel.

You'll see the wolf grow hungry,
the teeth slash at your heart.
His stained mouth makes you want to scream.

A mirror never lies.
It shows you the mask of your beauty,
but everyone will soon see your beast.
