A Moment In Time Poem by taylor baecker

A Moment In Time

When I didn’t belong, feeling isolated, alone, misunderstood and abandoned...

Surrounded by others but never truly belonging,
No one to turn to, what do I do?
My only salvations are the books I read,
and the fantasies I escape to,

I stay up late wondering if there’s truly a place I belong,
or if this is my fate of loneliness,
Though I wish for a companion, a friend, a best friend who’ll understand me, but now I wonder if that will ever actually happen,

I feel like the old teddy bear the child once loved but as time passed had forgotten,
Though at times I feel despair and wish to give up and run inside my black hole of depression,
Despite the fact that its like being in a prison of darkness theres still a small pool of like shining more brighty than anything else in this world,
I can’t give up, I still believe and dream of my happily ever after.
