A Monstrous Prayer. (Mary Shelley) Poem by John C. Smith

A Monstrous Prayer. (Mary Shelley)

Inside my borrowed brain
and misshapen torso;
with this borrowed heart
soaked in tears
from borrowed eyes,
I pray to any borrowed God
that I have a soul
which is mine own.
