A Moo On The Prairie Poem by Elle Rose

A Moo On The Prairie

Rating: 5.0

beep beep
says my cow
for he is confused daily
about the state of his being

my cows name is henry
he stands in the field and chews grass
all
day
long

the best part about henry is his imagination
henry likes to sing sometimes
usually when no one wants to hear him singing
but for this i forgive him

the last time i saw henry
he was sitting on the top of his barn
crying
i asked him what was bothering him

henry told me he was missing his old life
he used to live in san diego
and run with the cartel

so i said
henry,
if you still want to deal out here you can
this made him happy and he planned to leave at once

that night henry left for san diego
he knew it would be a long trip but still he perservered
i packed him some snacks and hugged him goodbye

i didn't hear from henry for eighteen years
then one day i get a letter
he made it
that son of a bull, he made it

he now lived in a walk in freezer in a costco in california
he ate the ice cream in there
i said, henry isn't that kind of weird?
eating a dessert made out of your wife's breastmilk?

and he's like i guess,
but i'm sort of into it
so i said, respect bro

and that's the story of how my cow henry left his home
to deal durgs in california
i'll never forget you henry
