A Morning View From Here...

the rains become heavy
and the brown boy who is
playing with his white dog
runs for shelter in a nipa hut
nearby beside the big acacia
tree along the road going
to the town plaze
the winds have arrived from
the sea and the leaves of
the mahogany trees dance
to the song of the breeze
as the scent of the ilang ilang flowers
pervades the stillness of the fog
still hugging the morning bushes.
