A Most Devoted Disciple Poem by Denis Martindale

A Most Devoted Disciple

The person lived to serve the Lord, of that there was no doubt,
And so, as not to be ignored, the signs were all about.
With a Bible by the bedside and in the living room,
Prayer Journal waiting, opened wide, for more prayers to resume!
Bank statements of the tithes once paid, donations here and there,
As further proof of laws obeyed and willingness to share.
Some praise reports, with details kept, and Easter cards received
And dreams explained in hours slept, so others, too, believed!

Yes, signs and wonders now and then to take one's breath away,
With poems written way back when on websites still each day.
With Billy Graham's sermons, too, recorded on TV,
And Christian paintings in full view for visitors to see!
Baptism books and study guides and Gospel tracts galore,
And daily proofs that God provides as if folks needed more.
Saved by the King of Calvary and what Christ sacrificed,
Devoted like a saint should be, thanks to the Cross of Christ!
