A Mother Is A Fort Poem by Josh Bowden

A Mother Is A Fort

A Mother's love the walls that guard
Her stern rebuke the cannon ports
Her watchful eye a barbican
A mother is a fort

A mother is a citadel
Her calm patience a stronghold gate
Her tears of love the moat that swells
Her child's life her strength au fait
