A Mothers Love Poem by Hilary Felice

A Mothers Love

Rating: 5.0

When will I be able to step back and let you go?
Allow you to grow
And not feel all you feel

When will I be able to step back and watch without fear?
That someone may hurt you
and I won’t be able to mend the wounds
or protect you from any kind of pain that may come your way

What do I do?
If your heart is broken
All I’d want is to be the one to put it back together

It’s overwhelming to me
There is this natural way I have about wanting to protect you always
Spare you from any harm or pain

When will I be able to step back and let you go?
Allow you to grow
And not feel all you feel

My heart tells me never

That is absolutely beautiful! .. the bond between a mother and daughther is the most precious gift of all. It is this unexplainable most fulfilling feeling that only 'that' mother and daughter can share. A mother should never feel they have to stop protecting their daughter. Ofcourse they must let them make their own decisions and let them grow as an individual, but they must never stop protecting or being a guide for their life. A mother knows there daughter best.. and knows whats best for their happiness. No matter how old that daughter is, she will always be her mother's baby, sister, and best friend. And never forget, a daughter, will always want to be her mother's baby, sister, and best friend. No matter what may occur, a daughter never wants her mom to stop being that guide. We will always need our moms; no matter how old we are. I love you Mom!

Your last line says it all, Hilary, and such is a true mother's love. Want another heart-melter of a poem? Then check out 'A True Mother's Love' by Patarica D Nunn and tell me if you're not half-crying with love at the end. With warmth, Gina.
