A Nest Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A Nest

A Nest

Lucky you with your gods
-Apollo to Venus, Anahita.

Lucky you who changed
-and became Abraham
-though at first was Abram.

Lucky you who praises the sun
-gives names and conditions
-to the rest, at home, wild.

Lucky you who insists
- "There is God."

Lucky you who made a turn-around
- "God is dead; life goes on! "

Lucky you who believes in science
- "Ignoring, insulting non-science, "

Lucky was Socrates
-insisted: "Must drink."

Lucky you, whoever
-in a nest and shelter
-of thoughts and idea
-by being right or not,
-purely wrong or not.

Poor I am as are geese
-butterflies; great kings.
-I read, think and listen
-reading books, in pages
-see why go for seasons
-to distance, emigrate…
-I too, take off and travel
-to return, see and face…
-Empty is land of the green
-instead have risen…
-the high-rise tall buildings…
-yet lay eggs though am lost!
