A New Day - Poem by Tamara Lieber
Sunlight trickles through tiny cracks
And falls like rain upon your sleeping smile.
Threadlike fingers clutch worn fur of 'Noel',
Your safety bear.
Silken strands cascade upon slunken shoulders
Of your fetal form under the softest sheets of rainbow colors.
Catlike sounds and a graceful stretch,
A twist and a bewitching grin.
Then sapphires appear with brillance unseen
As the awakening of innocence gives meaning
To this world of dreams.
