A New Day Poem by Kathleen Myers

A New Day

Today you are in one place, safe and sound.
Yesterday there were so many places you were around.
Today I hear you speaking of tomorrow,
Sometimes scared of good bye sorrows.

So many years of friends and career,
Moving forward will bring some fear.
Let me assure you of all of the kisses,
That await you never again for you to miss.

Sunday dinners, walks on end,
Fishing, shopping and golf when you can.
Laughter and smiles, glasses of wine,
Boating and kids down the line.

Sunshine ahead and new endeavors,
Surrounded by family forever.
Finally the time to enjoy us all,
We are together simply with a phone call!
