A New Start Poem by Shea Schultz

A New Start

'less than a year'
i tell myself
'no more things to shed a tear,
highschools coming and i start fresh
no more worries, no more stress'
as i take a deep breath
'memories form that school will be over
no more sad faces to cover,
don't have to deal with different things everyday
no more hurt feelings to push away'
with shaky hands i whisper softly
'less than two weeks 'til summer,
don't have to feel like everyday
i'm getting dumber'
i press a cold hand to my heart
'no more worries, no more stress
no more anxiety to compress,
this is it, this is the end,
finally people will comprehend,
all this hurt, all the lies
all the non-succeedable tries,
will vanish into thin air-'
i move a strand of hair
'a new beginning,
a fresh start
as well as for my healing heart'
