A New Story Poem by Cassandra Howell

A New Story

How do you take back what's been done?
How do you go back and rewind?
Suffering for my sin has now begun
Not a single wrong was left behind

Mistakes in my life have been made
Many lessons I have learned
The penalty I've paid
Pain that I've stupidly earned

I've finally started anew
I've put aside my selfish pride
The evil chain, I've cut in two
And I'm now on the better side

How I let it all slip away
I do not know
The price, I will forever pay
And the results, I hope will show

I've put aside the ways of old
And have begun a new story
Happiness, I will tightly hold
And for that, I give God all the glory

But there are still tests that still remain
That will have to be passed
Thoughts of giving in, I will restrain
I will hold together, until the very end
