A Pebbled Beach Poem by Damian Cranney

A Pebbled Beach

Rating: 4.5

I walked along a pebbled beach,
and gazed far out to the oceans reach,
Surrounded by the sounds of surf,
And soaring seagulls squawking,

The ocean met the darkening sky
As voluminous black clouds on high,
Joined with a burgeoning storm below,
That made the waves crash noisily,
As they beat against the shore.

It was a mighty and majestic sight,
As evenings approach banished the light,
It was with regret, that an exit was made,
To a warm welcome cafe, serving tea and cake,
I would also commend the strawberry shake.

We returned next day to a calm flat sea,
The pebbles were wet and reflected the sun,
Sparkling like jewels with a background of blue,
And multifarious colours, each with a different hue.
