A Penchant For The Moon Poem by Sinashta, Sidra

A Penchant For The Moon

Here comes the end, my dear sun, 1-
Your flaring lights are dimmed away,
Yet, your loving moon shall tonight stay,
And I shall on that velvet lawn lay,
Away from chaotic world's decay.
And beckoning faces of dear ones gone.

Night hours give me delight, yet are always on the run.
Wounds of past times still have their smart, 2-
And pangs of sorrow urge me to depart.
O, my delightful moon, you master of my heart,
With me please stay till a farewell bids the night.
And let me sing you sweetest melodies of the dawn.

Until the next night is fallen and begun,
I'll fulfil my promise to you for an endless stare. 3-
When the chords of my longing with melodies blare,
On our enchanting tunes with the stars we'll share
The same old love, across the ether I declare
My unruly penchant for you, my solitary one. 4-
