A Penny-Pincher's Lesson Poem by Jeff Smith

A Penny-Pincher's Lesson

Rating: 5.0

A penny-pincher's lesson
Is a very high price to pay.
Did I lose all that I love,
By ruining another day?
'A penny saved is a penny earned'
Is a quote by Benjamin Franklin.
How many Pennies did I earn,
By not going to Baskin-Robbin?
Just about three thousand pennies.
So that is the amount I earned.
But it cost me so much more.
This is the lesson I learned.
My love for you is very strong.
What happened doesn't make sense.
I do not know how much love is worth.
But I know, it's more than three thousand cents.
