A Phase In Life - I Poem by Zaal Hijazi

Never more darkness can increase my gloom
But yet my heart is wild in bloom
Excruciating senses, rejuvenating passions
Simplicity galore, no unnecessary fashions
I find content, alone with myself
Though my Self is lost, in all those I love
I have found a soul, that's willing to love
And another soul too, for which I'm not willing
Maybe I'm right, or maybe I'm wrong
The confusion has increased, for time long
In the outset I smile, and laugh all I can
While inside is a huge void, and I'm falling within further
Never more darkness can increase my gloom,
But yet my heart is wild in bloom!
