A pious prostitute
in she, we need to salute
she is only like a statue.
In glass, she is on display
she being treated like a play
no customer she gets for today.
At night, she cries on prayer mat
‘O, God! If no customers come to me;
How I take care, my bedridden son? ,
How I take care, my aging mother? '
i liked your response to 'Brahmin'; it would make a very fine Poet's Notes. But: raping, not 'rapping', you accidentologist! ! ! to MyPoemList. bri :) p.s. the glass part of the poem was not absolutely clear to me (and that's NOT A PUN! ! ! well, maybe it is) .
I was told that in certain part of the world they put prostitutes in glass.
Between the lines, I see hypocrisy paying homage to virtue. Beautiful creation embellished in poetic rhyme and rhythm. Thanks for sharing Rohan.
At night, she cries on prayer mat ‘O, God! If no customers come to me; How I take care, my bedridden son? , How I take care, my aging mother? ' yes this cry is heard by God...... if they do that for the son and for the family........ how can we condemn her.... she stands before us as a question...... we have to question the society which condemns such women......... thank you very much. dear poet.. tony
