There is a place in heaven for all new dogs.
Comfort and peace to rest their paws.
Give them strength to go at it alone.
Give them courage in their new home.

Let them find faces they have known before.
Who have already entered into heavens door.
They will be there to welcome you home.
A spot to sit by them, a shiny new bone.

Allow them long fields to run all day.
A place where angels and dogs can play.
For on this earth you gave us much joy.
Your favorite line was “That’s a good boy”.

Now there’s a new leash to lead you on.
A familiar voice that now carries you home.
We know you’ll be watching and talking out loud.
Hold your head high; you have made us proud.
