A Plea To A Running Sun Poem by Marbet Daniel

A Plea To A Running Sun

Each time I stretch my arm
towards the morning sun
to feel the goodness of its warmth
away from me it seems to run
with time passing by
its heat to my heart causing harm.
my dark face I try to dye
that at least she allows me closer
but it does not make things easier
every step I take
results out to be a mistake,
she seem to move further and further
her rays becoming hotter.
everything making my soul bitter.

Oh beautiful sun
allow me to learn
in your sight to be the best man
i would fear not to take a lesson
because you are the only sun
whose rays I see even in the dark
pliz don't put me in black list,
truly speaking am the least
in material and words.
but not the minute in love,
not just love but true love.

Lovely poem written with the simplicity of Emily Dickinsona and Sylvia Plath.
