A Poem A Day Poem by O. A.

A Poem A Day

A Poem a Day

When I was younger
And went to see the Doctor
And I was down
And filled with depression
My Doctor told me
He had the best medicine

I said to my Doctor
'I have depressed thoughts
And I'm not sure
What is really wrong...'

He said: 'Son, I would say
You got to laugh when you can
But if you cannot, if you can't...
Then write a poem a day
A poem each and every day...'

I said to my Doctor
'I have depressed thoughts
And I hate my life
And I can't sing a song...'

He said: 'Son, I would say
If eating an apple will keep
The Doctor away...
Then write a poem a day
A poem each and every day...'

A poem a day
Will keep the Doctors away
And cure you
Of any depression and pain

'So, ever since then
I write, and write, and write
And also laugh
When I can at my life, my life
And now everything is alright.
Everything is alright...'

A poem a day
Will keep the Doctors away
And cure you
Of any depression and pain

A poem a day
A poem a day
A poem a day
