A Poem To Stay Alive Poem by Alexandro Johns

A Poem To Stay Alive

I'm over reading the silent
that covers this 2020's reality:
The crowned pest has arrived,
it came to dispute our illusory kingdom.

I belong to the most
ferocious animal species in the planet,
but now I trembling whit fear,
I'm hanging in the gallows of my uncertainty
looking for mercy in science.

I understand that my body is shared material
and perhaps I will be food of the chance of nature,
but in this nights, as if I were in a cavern,
I listen to the ancient biological oracle telling me
Survive!
"Don't let the final brushstroke
of your gloomy self-portrait reach you yet.
You must chain yourself to every moment.
Nothing exceeds the enjoyment
of no returning to the seed."

Oh life, as long as I breathe,
every word of mine will be a hook that hopes
to catch your body in this sea of fury.
