A Poet Poem by greg richardson

A Poet

A poet
am I
We are not so common
as one might believe
and yet I ache
to be heard
to be seen.

I do not write books
unless they are collections
of my poems
but these do not seem
to attract the attention
of the masses.

So I write for myself
and the few who believe.

Destiny will ordain me
if its meant to be.

So so true. This should be the anthem of the poet I think. A perfect representation. As a painter i once met a brilliant artist who once in a very calm lovely voice said ' continuum karen ' so so true....Thank you karen
