A Poetic Cleaning Poem by Jim Boone

A Poetic Cleaning

Rating: 5.0

First you write a poem
To lay it all out.
Start five days
Before the weekend
Guest or not

Monday: Clean the Gallery,
The entrance hall, the
Front door and the mirrors.
Bring out the Swiffers and
Make the dust skedaddle.

Tuesday: Clean the bedrooms
And hallways. Change the
Beds, vacuum and Swiffer.

Wednesday: Clean the bathrooms
And clean them good. Put out
Fresh towels, soap and toilet paper.

Thursday: Do the areas where
People congregate – the Kitchen,
The living room, the dining room
And the galleries.

Friday: Touchup your bathroom
And bedroom and the kitchen.

Enjoy your weekend, company
Or not, knowing the house
You live in is ready for
Its ‘close-up’, as are you.

You are, aren’t you? 2011
