A Poetic Evening Poem by Ese Mamman

A Poetic Evening

Rating: 4.5

Fireflies lighted the evening green, just like the stars, the evening blue. Toads and frogs ribbiting in pools. Crickets and birds singing in flutey tunes.

My toes curled up to withstand tingles as the gentle wind caressed with ease through the slits.

A comet descended slowly towards me and turned into a lady while she stood like the sun so still.

Her starry eyes made my eyelids weak. I shut my eyes and was able to see my heart glowing like the moon.

What a wonderful night, I thought, but deep in my mind was loneliness asleep.

She took a step closer to me, and I heard the seas roar in pains as my skin burned like the sun.

There I sat in the mercy of her means, tied in emotions, but in my chains I still hoped, as I heard the whispers of the trees.
