A Prayer Against Ignorance (Edited) Poem by Kensley Charlemagne

A Prayer Against Ignorance (Edited)

God Eternal!
Thy beginning knows no starting
And Thy end knows no beginning,
Thy kingdom is from everlasting to everlasting,
Thy foundation is truth
And Thy dominion is exercised in love,
-Unconditional love! -

Speak and reveal Thyself to this mortal soul,
If Thy voice is silence,
Let me hear it,
If Thy whisper is in the wind,
Let it not blow past me,
If thunder is Thy utterance,
Let me find peace with it
And if Thy cry is in the spirit of Thy word,
Let it possess me.

Set Thy image before me
In dazzling paintings of lightning
And may I trace Thy fingerprints
In the simple complexities of nature.

In this preparatory school of life,
Self is my greatest obstacle,
Humankind my greatest challenge,
Evil my greatest enemy.
Grant me Thy victory over them all.
