A Prayer To The Stars Poem by Priya Adriana Singh

A Prayer To The Stars

Rating: 5.0

Come down the cognitive stars
Bless the ones upon the sacred shrines
For what it felt like a silent thought
It was the guilty conscience of mine
All I need is to survive, I'm tryin'

Come down the vigilant stars
Touch them as a brief, unreal dream
As the gentle falling dew honest on the mirrors
Natural, lasting as life, it may seem
For a firm faith send forth not a ray, but beam

Come down the ancient stars
Show your might over the illimitable boundless seas
Riding on invisible air, guarding the gentle flare
Faint as the hum of distant bees
So much lies in the soul, death frees

Come down the immortal stars
Vast as eternity, deep as despair; you know what in the grand victory lies
This mysterious piercing echo that lasts, telling
About the calm but cruel death, every living man dies
Leaving an enticing riddle as you did, for the worldly wise
