A Punt To The Test Poem by Blake Ruley

A Punt To The Test

A long go through the fray, I encountered a tree one day.
Strolling along the grassy fields with happy and will at my side.
I sat alone, and I sat at night just to prove that I was right!
I encumbered many oaks and encumbered many leaves.
Dusk fell and I awoke to hear the crickets and deer gallop.
Night alone, and in black I encountered one tree that sheltered me from harms pass.
The night grew darker and the crickets louder as I slept under that Great Oak.
Howls in the distance and sleep was a unrest, my sheath on steadfast.
I listened and I heard what the silence of alone felt like
It was silent.
I awoke the next and put it to rest, and covered the page that I put to the test.
