A Rainy Day Poem by Adam Berman

A Rainy Day

Rating: 5.0

The rain in their faces
The wind in their hair
upon such a morning
a feeling of despair
Long them for a break

The rain is getting stronger
Their umbrellas twist and break
like two hands with great force
the wind and water cause
the earth to shake

Rushing in their footsteps
They mind nothing
Not even each other
As rats in te sewers
One cuts another

The streets full of cockroaches
running for their lives;
Sex toys and their husbands
the make-up and their wives

a night of hours behind me
and not one minute of sleep
my teeth taste like vomit
I threw up; I admit

Sitting at the bus stop
In my hands a jar of honey
a junkie pulls up in front
and asks me for some money
I offer him my food but he won't take it.

And as the weight of rain
contineus to fall Alone I remain
with a little book I like to call
The Bible; The book of love
and as each goes his seperate way
I smile to god above
