A Rhymer As Such Poem by Francis Duggan

A Rhymer As Such

As a rhymer as such never one to the fore
I write rhymes for enjoyment and little else more
I never refer to myself as a poet
Nor am i one worthy of any literary note

Rhyme it is never a hard thing to write
And easy to read and memorize and recite
A popular form of writing in a long gone time
But readers nowadays does show little interest in rhyme

I have been advised for to give rhyming away
Though to such advice any heed i do not pay
I just love writing rhyme and despite what some does say
I hope to be rhyming on my life's day

A rhymer as such is the best i can be
And it was my love of rhyme made a rhymer of me
My best years in life in the forever gone
But for as long as i can do i will keep on rhyming on.
