*a River Of Color* Poem by Trisha Hopkins

*a River Of Color*

September-28-2003
Trish M. Barrek Hopkins

So many colors brought to us every fall
Raking in colors of leaves
Jumping in them is such a ball
Getting them in our hair and up our sleeves
Then we hear that call
To come in after we clean up
But before i go in
A breeze went past my nose
And not far behind some leaves in a spin
On top of my shoes and cold toes
Then i glance once more
Of all the colors on the ground
Today wasn't a bore
Because i got to play
In a river of color i have found
Before the day went away
Just laying there peacefully on natures ground
God's sacred floor
