A Second Chance Poem by Kaysen Fraker

A Second Chance

I came into your life
with kind jestures
and flattering words
that had you completely fooled

Once resting deep in your roots of trust
I released my venom
turning your lovly roots
a sickly black

Slowly
but surly
I worked my magic
and lay your life in ruines

Lying on your death bed
and with your final breath
you cursed my name
with a weak yet powerful scream

Awake in your bed
you came to realize
I was only a nightmare
and a soon to be faded memory

'Till the day
you crossed my path
ignoring a sweet comment that you would of normaly smiled at
living your life as if I was just another nightmare
