A Senior's Birthday Poem by Ray Hansell

A Senior's Birthday

Another year of living
Is set to pass you by
You sit at home alone
Memories moisten your eyes

You can't believe how fast
The years have come and gone
You can't believe how swiftly
Time keeps passing on

It seem like only yesterday
That you turned eighteen
You swear that some of the years
You've never even seen

You've raised yourself a family
Now, they have families of their own
Time is so very precious
They rarely visit your home

Now, before you know it
You're living your senior years
You look back on all the memories
Remembered fondly with a few tears
