A Shock Treatment Poem by Alem Hailu Gabre Kristos

A Shock Treatment

Rating: 5.0

When I regretted
Why God is stingy
In showering me
With wealth
He took my health
Goading me
With a threat of death!

Praying when
I recuperated
I realized
Foolishly I had been
Daydreaming for wealth
Oblivious
My health
Is my number one wealth! //

Excellent poem Alem! Yes we must watch what we pray for, being human we sometimes forget the important things like our health in our quest for riches. Very well written with great meaning for everyone. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
