A Silent Prayer Poem by Ranadeb Bhattacharya

A Silent Prayer

Rating: 5.0

Beyond the daisies in a vanishing verse,
Wafting over the ocean of passing thoughts,
Beyond the less traveled trails of life,
Where reasons retreat and dreams hold sway
And old reminisces in their embalmed chambers lay.

Beyond the lousy shadows of good and evil,
Beyond the faulty rubrics of right and wrong,
I hold my breath in silent hope,
Of stealing a fair glimpse of you.

Bathed in the shimmer of a drowsy moon,
Untouched by the pain of reason,
Untwisted by the wisdom of the world,
I see thee- beauty and truth in unity.

Neither soiled by the rust of pedantry,
Nor trampled by the foot of greed.
You blend in every soul,
Dwelling in majesty unknown to all.

Someday when the time is right,
We will be one under a lavender sky.
Till then I bid thee Adieu!
Till that one fair moment frozen in time,
When we shall never spare each other’s sight.

Sometimes, an appropriate response to a thing can, and should be, just one word. Unfortunately, my reaction to the poet's words would go unheard unless I gave it this lengthy introduction to reach the minimum character requirements of a comment. My reaction is simply, Wow!
