A Silent Q&a Poem by Ema Bovoro

A Silent Q&a

Rating: 5.0

I wonder what I would say to you
Were I able to speak freely?

No repercussions
No judgements

Just to sit face to face and ask why?

Why this? Why that?
Why him? Why her?
Why did you not just release me?
Rescue me?
Run to me?

Where?

Where were they?
Where was he?
Where were you?

What?

What did I do so bad?
What did I say that made you dead?
What did I think or feel that made you mute?

How?

How is it that you give so much
And hurt so much?
But I should smile
Because I am, 'blessed'.

How could you watch me break?
And be broken
Over and over again
And not stop the next pain?

How could you demand my full obedience
But cast me aside when I trip and fall
Fall down far and fast
Into a bottomless pit?

Yes, if I had a day to sit and talk freely
I wonder?

Wonder if You would answer?
Wonder if You would care?
Wonder if You would even bother?

Mm, I wonder.
