Hurt. Poem by Ema Bovoro

Hurt.

Rating: 5.0

I am a monster
I am the very thing I have always hated
I am the toxic air that chokes lungs and soul
I am the menacing demon brooding in the shadows
Waiting for the precise moment to devour and attack

I crave violence
I thirst to cause pain
I am rotten to the core
I smile when you hurt

Put your head on my chest
Look into my eyes
You will not find a heart there
No soul to care for cries

I don't have anything anymore
No smile, no hope, no dream
Love, care and happiness
You'll find none of the sort in me

I'm hurt.
