A Silent Quiet Night Poem by Rasheed Raji

A Silent Quiet Night

The weather was icy cold
The noise was loud
The smell was thick
2 clicks away from the hiding shadow

A moment you don't account for,
A memory you never wanted
A song unsung

Today, I picked up my pen
The weight of the world lifted off me,
Yet I became atlas once more

A rhyme-less hymn
A beatless song
A voiceless speech
And that's the end

In the shadow it smiled
Happy of its work
My thoughts are a mess
Like the weather it followed

Mute some called me
Voices of a thousand undying souls
Echo through my smile
A smile of the deadman

Tears are a luxury
Happiness is a state
Love is a commitment
Life is nothing but a passing moment
