A Smoker's Regret (1) (Not Cool, Bloody Fool) Poem by U Win Kyi

A Smoker's Regret (1) (Not Cool, Bloody Fool)

I am a patient with lung cancer.
staging at terminal
I was a chronic chain smoker.
Death is drawing near.
I am now in ICU care.
I am feeling like a fish out of water.
I am given oxygen by a machine respirator.
I need more of narcotic pain-killer
to relieve me of severe pain I suffer.

The tobacco company makes a huge profit
putting the public health at great risk.

I thought by smoking I looked smart and cool.
Now I know too late that I am a bloody fool.
