A Snowing Christmas Poem by Idiongo Ebong

A Snowing Christmas

When I hear the great bells ring, the bell of joy
And see the great light shine in the blues, the dark
I will jump to my feet in shout of joy, of joy
Because my life has seen the light in the blinding dark

So, when you hear my voice raised
Rejoice with us for our lives is raised
The beauty of a snowing Christmas

From sea to sea and the expanded land
To the great tribes of the ancient Rome
And the raging monarchy of the pharaohs
To the lands of the god king of Persia

Never has they seen in all their greatness
The beauty and the peace of this snowing Christmas
The fruitful life of the beautiful spring

So, peace to the earth that has known war for ages
Life to the broken bones that had been fried for ages
Let the barren share in this joy, the fruits of birth
And let the blessings brand our finger with the rings

The golden rings; the beautiful colours of Christmas
Healthy breeze of the golden Christmas
Brilliant rays of light, snowing Christmas
