A Song For The Night Poem by Robert Katuli

A Song For The Night

In the night in peace I will lie down
Because the Almighty will give me sweet sleep
No doubt the morning I will see with no frown
For my Father will sustain me through the night deep

I'll not rise up early for fear of the night
He'll in the safety of the night make me dwell
I'll not sit up late in fear of the fight
He'll through the night sustain me well

Upon my bed let me remember my God
Night unto night let me increase knowledge of His riches
In the night watches let me meditate on my Lord
The night is for the Lord, so let me not fear the witches

Keeping me company in the night shall be His songs
With deliverance songs He shall compass me around
In their sleep the saints shall dream of heavenly dongs
For, even in the night, He giveth songs of sweetest sound
