A Song I Wrote For You Poem by Saviour Otubelu

A Song I Wrote For You

Every time I feel you by my side
My heart does glow with tremendous pride
How my soul pines for you, my dearest queen
A jewel like you I have never seen

Any day I do not feel your warmth near
I feel like a balloon emptied of air
I feel like an egg's shattered shell
Life without you is blazing hell

I do pray nothing tears us apart
If you could see right through my heart
You'd see your name engraved on gold
You would see your name written bold

My love is built on a sturdy rock
Listen, can you hear the sound of my knock?
On the golden door of your heart
My sincere love, nothing can thwart

No matter how much I write or speak
Words are too fragile; words are too weak
To show how much you mean to me
My love is like the depth of the sea

Well, so much words I have spoken
Yet so much more left unspoken
But you are and forever will be
Someone special, someone dear to me
