A Song Of The World Poem by Kevin Kiely

A Song Of The World

Recently not even one visit during sleep
telling me, everything will be fine
we never dealt in, I love yous, you are mine
nor held hands in public

After the talking
and silences broken by excitement
followed by the sweetest sleep
after the speeches and the weeping at the end
when distance formed a blur between us

the grey times and the blue lightnings
of the world hereafter and the years apart
still have our re-union for a song
lovers find real hope in this song of the world
tested against despair and oblivion
