Dear God

My prayer for You night and day
That children grow to learn and play
To see tomorrow bright and clear
And hold the world with God so dear

The gifts of God, we all abound
Land and sea and air around
May they toil, and sow and reap
Their thoughts be kind and love they keep

When things go wrong and grief await
When failures come and help be late
When no one stays and left alone
When body drops and pleas unknown

When all smite you and demons lurk
When war comes close and dear ones die
When everything's not right and tight
Dear God be close, show heaven's light

Show heaven's light, let Saints be there
And Saints be there, be all so near
No words suffice, their spirit strong
Come Holy Spirit, your words their song!

Glory to God in the highest
And peace to all people on earth
Bless their days
Bless our todays
Today and tomorrow, bless their days!
